Maps of Choler (2015)

He used to write me sensual, romantic love poems. Now he sent me this.

Maps of Choler (2015)

Once upon a time,
yesteryear
to be exact,
House Harkonnen hosted
the Winter Olympics,
fancying a jolly, peaceful
pokerface.

Up the river,
at that time,
a brave new
generation
was boxing
sclerosis
out the door.
Waters split
Westwards.
Baron Vladimir
could only control
the damage
already done.

Immortan Joe
has been chasing down
his harem,
like anything else,
because people
are property
to him.
A black standard
stood up
to end
Fremen’s Spring.

But Fremen
had been hoarding
North to Pontus,
even before
the prior Olympics,
the Vancouver
ones.

The Bund
funded hope
Eastwards,
cutting it off
Southwards,
buying cheap
what Harkonnen
has to sell –
to all places.

Rumors machines
never get tired.
Stocks machines
never quench.
Devious arts
never sleep.

Danubes,
and Dniepers,
flow South.
Rhines,
and Elbes,
North.
Thus followed
Fremens.

Low flying
dragons
soft touching
Goldlilocks.
Just
for the feel of
snuffling
a
sleeping beauty.

High humming
helicopters,
and drones…
Just
for the sake of
an
argument.

Desperate
for liberties,
the Fremen
found less
of them.
Because people
are seen as
property,
not only
by Immortan Joe.

You are
the product.
They are
the traders.
Freedom is
not free.

Political correctness
is
a weapon
designed to
silence
people whose
arguments
cannot be
refuted.

Would you give up
a little liberty
to gain
a little security?

You’ll deserve
neither
and lose
both.
