Guitar Solo by Eric Trucks at Age 13
This is Derek Trucks opening for the Allman Brothers Band in 1993. You can see that he has certainly mastered the slide as well as the electric guitar! Very good!
The message shirt he has on is of the Duane Allman, a hero of us Southern Rock fans, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1971. Several musicologists rate him the best electric guitarist ever up to that time. Can’t find any recording with good enough audio to send out, however.
I have one critique, and always have had. He’s like Eric Clapton—no pizzazz! Great guitarist, though, who as I stated earlier is either the best or second best of the slide players.
